Woven label applique offers a clean and refined look for custom logo apparel. Applique is defined as the craft of stitching small fabric pieces onto larger pieces of fabric to make a pattern or design. Woven label applique can be used for many custom logo apparel products, but is most often used for custom hats, caps, and beanies. Woven labels can add your own branding to a piece of apparel and truly make it look customized, along with elevating the overall value. Woven labels can include your company logo, brand logo, school logo, or even team logo and provide an opportunity to help market your brand, company, or business further and get the name out there.
For headwear, woven label applique works best with unstructured cap styles and lighter-weight fabrics. Examples of unstructured hat types are dad caps and relaxed style caps. Examples of lighter-weight fabrics include beanies, knit caps, and other lightweight hat styles to accommodate the woven label. Adding a woven label to a thicker fabric hat or a heavier-weight fabric will make it harder to stitch and directly apply on. Furthermore, the woven label applique may not appear as sleek or blend in on the surface.
Simple shapes work best in order to tack down the label applique. The woven labels are stitch applied to the apparel product such as a hat or beanie, with a running stitch tack down. Woven labels with too many edges or a complex shape will be harder to tack down and may not look as smooth or flush on the custom apparel item. The maximum size for woven label appliques on hats and caps is 1 3/4” x 3 1/2” W. Woven label appliques can also be used on shirts, polos, t-shirts, hoodies, and jackets. Adding your own brand or company’s logo on the woven label applique is a nice personalized touch.
