Rubber Patches

Rubber patches are a modern and unique type of patch that can give your custom apparel product a bold and technical look. Rubber patches work great with custom logo apparel such as custom hats, custom caps, custom bags, custom backpacks, and more. Furthermore, rubber patches may be sold as standalone or individually for resale to collectors and hobbyists. Rubber patches may be popular for museums, gift shops, boutiques, retail stores, schools, and more.

  • Rubber patches should have a relatively simple design with an external gutter along the edge for hand stitching onto the cap, or they can be more intricate if they are to be heat applied.
  • To maintain minimal thickness and weight of the patch, ensure that no more than three layers of detail are added on top of the base layer.
  • Minimum Quantity: 48 units.
  • Maximum Dimensions: Subject to cap style; commonly, the front position maximum is 2”H x 4”W.

Rubber patches add a cool level of dimension to any design and work best with multi-colored logos with a moderate level of detail. For more complex logos with smaller or finer details, woven patches, embroidered patches, or sublimated patches are recommended. Rubber patches need to have a fairly simple shape with an outer edge margin in order to be hand stitched to the custom apparel product such as a hat or bag. Rubber patches can have a slightly complex shape, but will need to be heat applied.

Rubber patches should have no more than 3 layers of detail on top of the base layer. This ensures the thickness and weight of a rubber patch is kept to a minimum. Rubber patches are durable and have a cool feel compared to traditional patches such as embroidered patches. For customers wanting a different patch or a patch that stands out, a rubber patch may be the one.
