What is an Etched Leather Patch? Custom Etched Leather Patch
Etched refers to laser etching. Logos and designs are laser etched directly onto a patch. Laser etching may also be referred to as laser engraving. A high-powered laser beam is focused onto the leather patch surface and controlled to properly engrave the design on the leather.
Etched leather patches are perfect for moderate to complex logos with small details. Etched leather patches can be made of genuine leather or faux leather and work best with a one-color application on the patch. Simple shape patches such as circles, rectangles, and squares are stitch-applied to the hat, while complex shape patches are heat press applied to the hat. Faux leather comes in a variety of colors and genuine leather comes in a few colors. Genuine leather is more expensive than faux leather and faux leather may be slightly more durable to wear.
